SunMeter helps you understand local UV conditions and estimate your personal sun exposure risk. This policy explains what information may be processed to provide UV forecasts, burn-time estimates, reminders, optional AI skin type detection, Apple Watch features, and subscriptions.
We use this information to show local UV levels, estimate burn time, personalize sunscreen timing, schedule reminders, display Live Activities and widgets, support Apple Watch views, manage subscriptions, and respond to support requests.
Location access is used to retrieve local UV and weather forecasts. Weather providers may receive location coordinates or a derived location needed to return the forecast. You can disable location permissions in system settings, but local UV features may stop working correctly.
AI skin type detection is optional. If you use it, the photo you choose may be sent to an AI service to estimate a Fitzpatrick skin type for sunscreen timing. The estimate is not a medical diagnosis. You can skip this feature and select a skin type manually.
SunMeter may schedule local notifications for sunscreen reapplication, burn warnings, shade check-ins, and UV peaks when you allow notifications. Live Activities, widgets, and Apple Watch surfaces may display UV and session information on your devices.
Most app preferences and session history are stored on your device. Some features rely on Apple services, weather providers, AI processing, analytics, or subscription infrastructure. We do not sell personal data.
SunMeter is not intended for children under 13. If you believe a child has provided personal data through the app, contact us so we can review it.
